Thanks to a grant from the DEC, we are working with the Environmental Cooperative at Vassar Barns, Susan Blickstein AICP/PP, PhD, and the LRC Group to develop a campus-wide green infrastructure strategy. As part of this work we are also designing a pilot project around the recently renovated Cow Barns on the Vassar Farm.
Shown here in a conceptual rendering, our vision pulls water from the roof and surrounding ground to create a series of constructed wetlands which will complement the goals of the Casperkill Creek Management Plan. While storm water management often depends on engineering calculations, we like to work creatively to envision places that reveal and celebrate landscape hydrology.
