Main Street Agroecological Pop Up Park

In 2014, One Nature, in partnership with Green Teen volunteers and Hudson Todd Developers, transformed a vacant lot in Beacon, NY, into a vibrant pop-up park. Located near Beacon’s Main Street, the park became a rare green space in the urban core, addressing the challenges of real estate speculation and the reduction of publicly accessible open areas due to gentrification. Featuring gardens, a compost station, and native plants, the park served as a hub for community gatherings, sustainable practices, and ecological education. With contributions from Green Teen, it thrived as a vital community resource for ten years, inspiring urban transformation.
