We are merging agricultural and ecological design principles for a 70-acre farm. After observing the impacts of Irene, Lee, and other storms to their property, a family engaged One Nature in 2013 to develop a master plan for their property that would make it both more resilient and beautiful. Last Fall, we started construction implementation of our design to protect and improve this 70-acre property in Otsego County, NY from future major storm events. Phase one included bioengineering a half mile of riverfront, earth moving, and the expansion of an old agricultural pond. This Spring, we constructed a new stream, built habitat potholes, restored an old field to hay production, and expanded an old spring-fed pond.
