When a developer built a mile-long unpermitted road through an established New England freshwater wetland, One Nature was contracted by the local government to determine the overall cost of damages to the surrounding ecosystem. We walked and documented the site, performed Geospatial Analysis of historic aerial photographs to determine historic conditions, and established a comprehensive list of impacts to hydrology, soil, and plants.

Next, we developed a detailed cost estimate and schedule that accounted for all levels of construction which would be required to reconstruct the damaged landscape. This work product was used by the municipality’s legal team, resulting in a settlement that funded the creation of a new public park.
