One Nature was hired by the City of Stamford to create a new Low Impact Development (LID) project to address sedimentation issues in an important tributary to the Long Island Sound. Our team successfully converted a compacted dirt parking area into a formalized park entryway that treats stormwater runoff prior to it entering the waterway.

Some of the LID practices employed in the project include:

  • Bioswale
  • Curb Cuts
  • Permeable Pavers
  • Vegetated Filter Strips
  • Soil Restoration

The project was completed in the Fall of 2015. By the end of the 2016 growing season, the landscape should be a lush and beautiful contribution to the entry experience of the park.

Note: While One Nature developed the conceptual vision for this project and performed construction management, professional design services for this project were provided by Hudson Land Design Professional Engineering, P.C.
